We have had 12 out of 38 students progress to Level 3 courses; we have had 2 students progress to A levels and we had 4 students who won learner awards. Several students for whom English is not their first language have shown marked improvement in their oral and written skills.
The ESOL team, for the first time, has independently organised the smooth running of the ESOL exams.

Parents at the Learner Awards Evening were delighted at how the College had supported their offspring and how we celebrated their success.
I am really proud this academic year of being able to:
· use the smart board
· the filp camera to video students group activities and presentations
· encouraging student to email or send a text message when they are late or absent.

· Created excellent relationships with students
· Saw their confidence grow
· Developed confidence in expanded use of ILT in the classroom
· Use of smartboard for interactive tasks with class. For example, annotation of a poem with each student making a contribution lading to discussion.
· Youtube clips to promote class discussions on Language Change and Language Acquisition.
· Power point presentations on Language theorists both at AS and A2.
· Shared resources between team members.
· Creating interesting and engaging tasks for students – For example, students to develop a quiz which they then tested on other class members.
· Good retention levels for final exams.
· Survived the course!

The unity and cohesion between the staff members. And the unity and unwavering efforts of the teachers in art and design towards their learners, resulting in the high grade 2 from ofsted.
Prompt: Something that has helped your work with learners this year
The biggest thing that has helped me with my work this year would be the support I have received from the curriculum staff in the area I was placed in at the start of the year. The pastoral system was a massive change this year that required a lot of support and understanding. Although I sensed some reservations (which is completely understandable) the support I received from the teaching team was overwhelming and so I feel completely integrated into the team.
I owe them all a lot! x

I am proud that I have the highest attendance and retention figures within Tim’s areas.
I am also proud of my students achievements, some of which have experienced difficulties but against the odds, they have achieved.

This year I did my level 2 on move-on. this was a good way of learning for me as I could do practice tests which explained where I had made mistakes.
I think it’s a shame that this system is not promoted more for the students, as by the end of their first year they could get a better qualification than they had when they left school.
Students who arrive at the college to do Motor vehicle courses have a very low level of education and move-on would help them get ahead

Subject: Positive feedback from services provided
Positive feedback from students at course review; teaching and learning were great – we enjoyed our practical lessons and without the help and support of our lecturer we would not have lasted the 2 years.
Is it working?
